She also had the opportunity to work with cancer patients and their families by supporting them and guiding them through that painful path of illness and recovery from cancer. Her journey took her to helping children and families with all kinds of issues including sex abuse, schizophrenia, cerebral palsy patients, amongst others. Due to her passion to help the most in need or those that are forgotten in our community, she decided to advocate for inmates, specifically the mentally ill, so she began to work with the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit population in a Florida prison.

Since the beginning, the focus of her clinical work has been to support individuals, couples, and families on multifaceted issues including mental health, abuse/violence, stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement/grief, death/dying, and relationship issues. As a result of her journey as an advocate for change, it is her professional mission and calling to help couples, including LGBTQ community, to create positive and healthy relationships.
